What Pendimethalin Is
Pendimethalin belongs to the dinitroaniline chemical class. It's a selective soil-applied herbicide that controls annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds before they emerge. The compound inhibits cell division in root tips, stopping weed seedlings from establishing.
You'll see it used in cotton, corn, rice, potato, soybean, peanut, tobacco and vegetable fields. It works on the soil surface or just below it. Because it needs moisture for activation, rainfall or light irrigation after application helps move the active into the weed germination zone.

CHICO supplies pendimethalin as a 450 g/L capsule suspension, or CS. This formulation holds the active in microcapsules, which can reduce volatility and improve handling compared to emulsifiable concentrates. It's designed for dilution in water and soil application.
Before tank mixing, check the label of your registered product. Don't combine with highly alkaline materials unless your registrant confirms compatibility. Always do a jar test with the actual tank mix partners and water source. Agitate continuously during mixing and application, and use the spray mix the same day.
