Season program outline for banana
- Seedling or sucker stage
- Use a biostimulant or amino acid fertilizer to support root establishment. Apply a soil biofertilizer for root rot and nematode pressure.
- Vegetative stage
- Supply nitrogen and potassium through fertilizer. Scout for leaf spot and apply a fungicide if lesions appear. Watch for weevil activity at the corm.
- Flowering and bunch development
- Maintain potassium and micronutrients. Protect leaves with fungicide to keep the canopy active during bunch fill.
- Harvest and post-harvest
- Remove old leaves and pseudostems. Plan soil treatments for nematodes before the next cycle.
